Prediction: Bruins Moneyline (-120)

Key Points:

  • Boston 7-3 at home in playoffs.
  • Hawks 3-4 on the road in playoffs.
  • Boston was much better on home ice this season.
  • Boston appeared to have worn down the Hawks physically.

The Boston Bruins head home for game three after a gritty, physical game two win in Chicago. The Bruins were outshot badly for the first 35 minutes or so but ended up tying it up late in the 2nd and eventually winning it in OT. The Blackhawks dominated offensively early on in game two but they were outhit badly by the Bruins and eventually the momentum shifted in the Bruins favor. Boston now returns home with home ice advantage and the Hawks will have to steal one of two games in Boston to regain home ice back.

The Boston Bruins have dominated on home ice all season and that success carried over into the playoffs as they hold a 7-3 record at the TD Garden. The Chicago Blackhawks have struggled somewhat on the road in the playoffs compiling a 3-4 record so far. Boston crowd should be energized and pumped up for the first Stanley Cup final game in a couple of years. Although not a high-pressure game necessarily the pressure has definitely shifted to the Chicago Blackhawks as they must now steal one game in Boston or they will be in a very bad spot. The first two games of the series have gone to overtime and it has been a tightly contested series so far. There is a good chance we see another extra period or two again tonight.

The Bruins established their game plan for the rest of the series in game two, which was to hit Chicago hard every chance they got. I believe they will play a similar style once again tonight and look to continue to wear down the Hawks and gain a long term edge. The Bruins play much more physical in front of their violence seeking fans and I think they pound the Hawks into oblivion tonight and grind out a low scoring victory. The price sits at a very reasonable -120 currently so back the Bruins on their home ice tonight.

Pick: Bruins Moneyline (-120)

I grew up an avid sports fan and that transitioned to sports betting for me at the age of 21. I have always been obsessed with numbers and stats and used to keep track of my own player and team stats back before the internet took off. I would say fantasy sports was the springboard that led me to sports betting as I liked the competitiveness and rewards of it. I have a regular 9-5 job as well and learned the hard way many years ago that it is very tough to make a living off of gambling. For me I treat it more of a hobby now and as an income supplement. Having money on the game makes the games all that more enjoyable (and stressful sometimes) and I find myself watching sports I would never watch due to this. Hockey is definitely my bread and butter as I know the sport inside and out. I am from BC, Canada and am an avid Canucks fan. I also am a big Bluejays and Packers fan. Sports betting is a huge passion of mine and I have been successful and profitable every year in the NHL for the last 5 years.
