Prediction: Brad Marchand Over 3.5 Points (+107) (SERIES)

Key Points:

  • Marchand has 13 points in 16 games.
  • Since the 1st round Marchand has 10 points in his last 9 games.
  • In the Cup Finals in 2010 Marchand had 7 points in 7 games.
  • Marchand loves the spotlight and is a clutch scorer.

This original six Stanley Cup final is set to kick off Wednesday night in Chicago. Both teams have been very solid in winning their conferences. The Hawks took out the Wild in five rather easily in the first round. They faced a very game Detroit team in the second round and were almost caught off guard and taken out. The Wings jumped out to a quick 3-1 series lead but the Hawks pulled together and won the next three games to take the series. Chicago then took on the Kings in the Conference Finals and took care of the Kings in five games. The Bruins pulled one of the most improbable comebacks in playoff history in the first round against the Leafs. The Bruins trailed 4-1 with 10 minutes to go in the 3rd period and 4-2 with just over 2 minutes to go but they scored twice in the final two minutes to force overtime which they would eventually go on to win. The Bruins then carried that momentum into the next round taking out the Rangers in five. They then absolutely dominated the cup favorite Penguins and pulled off the unthinkable once again by sweeping the Pens and holding them to only two goals in four games. Both teams come in with a lot of momentum in this one and it should be an exciting series.

Love him or hate him you have to admit that you’d love to have Brad Marchand on your team. He is an agitator and a bit of a cheap skate at times but the results speak for themselves. Marchand is a clutch player and when the game is on the line there isn’t many else that you’d rather have on a breakaway than Marchand. Through 16 playoff games Marchand has 13 points. In the first series against Toronto he only managed 3 points in 7 games but since then he has picked up his production. He recorded 6 points in the Bruins five game series win over the Rangers and followed that up with 4 points in their sweep of the Penguins. Back in 2010-2011 during the Bruins cup win he was stellar in the finals against the Canucks as he registered 7 points in 7 games.

This should be a six or seven game series in my opinion which will give Brad Marchand plenty of games to get 4 points and cash this prop. Marchand thrives on pressure situations and should be one of Boston’s best players in this Stanley Cup Final. He has a knack for scoring clutch goals and making something out of nothing with his speed and shiftiness. I fully expect Marchand to be front and center in this series both physically and offensively and to cash this prop especially if it ends up going 6 or 7 games.

Pick: Brad Marchand Over 3.5 Points (SERIES) (+107)

I grew up an avid sports fan and that transitioned to sports betting for me at the age of 21. I have always been obsessed with numbers and stats and used to keep track of my own player and team stats back before the internet took off. I would say fantasy sports was the springboard that led me to sports betting as I liked the competitiveness and rewards of it. I have a regular 9-5 job as well and learned the hard way many years ago that it is very tough to make a living off of gambling. For me I treat it more of a hobby now and as an income supplement. Having money on the game makes the games all that more enjoyable (and stressful sometimes) and I find myself watching sports I would never watch due to this. Hockey is definitely my bread and butter as I know the sport inside and out. I am from BC, Canada and am an avid Canucks fan. I also am a big Bluejays and Packers fan. Sports betting is a huge passion of mine and I have been successful and profitable every year in the NHL for the last 5 years.
